On its first day, the Arab Fashion Week hosted the following designers that showcased their amazing collection.
Blumarine – Italy
Blumarine showcased Fall-Winter 2019/20 collection, the designer Anna Molinari wanted to express the sense of beauty and harmony which has always inspired her creations. “This is my Blumarine, where I have infused all the passion, the feelings and the whole experience of a lifetime, together with my love for seductive, flirtatious femininity, intriguing and a little divaesque, with sensuality and a touch of playful lightness. But also very up-to-date: it is my Blumarine for today’s world”, Anna Molinari said.
“It is a great honor for me to be the special guest of the Arab Fashion Council, opening Arab Fashion Week with the Blumarine FW 2019/20 show. Arab Fashion Week is considered one of the world’s most important fashion events and a unique showcase for luxury brands in the Arab World. Being here is a beautiful acknowledgment for me and my career. I am also happy to discover Dubai, a global city combining a unique synergy between tradition and innovation”, Anna Molinari added.

YLY Studio showcased PROJECT C / AW 19 Collection which highlights the importance of human touch and feels. The color palette revolves around earth tones which is also a recollection of autumn colors. The use of blues and greens represents “communication” in Chakra Healing, and is also dominant in this collection. “As we intertwine the traditional hand-knit with embroidery techniques, YLYstudio PROJECT C / AW 19 Collection brings warmth back to our daily lives”, said MATT HUI YIP LONG and LILIAN TSANG (YLY Studio designers).
Car|2ie showcased THE PROUD ROSE AUTUMN WINTER 2019, the inspiration of this season is from a Hong Kong movie called “Lost Romance” directed by Yonfan, and the main cast of the movie is Maggie Cheung and Yun-Fat Chow. The movie is based on the novel “Rose’s story” by Yishu. “For many women today, fashion is not just an option
but a way of life. A woman wants to be able to reflect her own sense of self and style, and CAR|2IE thrives on that belief; where imperfection equals perfection”, said Carrie Kwok .
Sophia Nubes – Italy
Sophia Nubes presented “Sun Collection”, a capsule constructed around a yellow
palette. With creativity and unmistakable style, the Sophia Nubes brand is setting out an essential collection, where strong evolutionary tendencies merge with innovation and fabric research. A decisive feature is attention to fit and detail of every single item. The collection is inspired by a new sober feel. Longer shapes; outerwear with a continued focus on the waist; daywear that’s all about layering, and eveningwear that sees lengths fade into long slits, revealing the legs with every step, and skimming the knees with soft, decidedly sensual shapes.
Mehmet Korkmaz – Turkey
Mehmet Korkmaz exhibited his “ready couture” designs, bearing the nobility of white and the simplicity of patterns. Mr. Korkmaz preferred to create his own trends rather than reflecting the trends on his creations.
Elegant, soft, fussy: Resort 20 season: The designs displaying the highest level of delicate craftsmanship as in every collection of Mehmet Korkmaz, reflected the cozy, calm, peaceful spirit in a world of his own, in the collections of Resort 20 season, as well. Dresses, jumpsuits and A-line skirts, which are designed using special patterns, are regarded as some of the favorite displays of the collection. As for the details; the feathers, sequins, feminine splendor spreading in waves and the glittering crystal gemstones set light into the souls.
